Heavy rain is forecast Thursday night through Saturday. Canyon areas below recent burn scars may see mud and debris flows. Prepare now: pick up sandbags, clear drains and know your evacuation zone.

Road closures

  • Laguna Canyon Road: possible overnight closures if flooding occurs; check before you drive.
  • Beach access stairs at storm drain outlets closed during heavy rain.

Shelters and resources

  • Community and Susi Q Center, 380 Third Street
    Opens as an evacuation point if a warning becomes an order. Pets in carriers welcome.
  • Sandbag pickup, City Corporation Yard
    Open 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Bring a shovel; limit 10 bags per household.
